About the Lehigh Valley

The Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania

The Lehigh Valley is a metropolitan area encompassing several cities, towns and outlying areas in Eastern Pennsylvania. Full of history, events and great people, the Lehigh Valley is a great place to both visit and to live. Consisting of the triplet cities: Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton, and smaller hometowns like Whitehall, Emmaus, Nazareth, Coopersburg, Macungie, Northampton, and Catasauqua. The Lehigh Valley area is located only 45 minutes north of Philadelphia and an hour and a half east of New York City.

Throughout the Lehigh Valley, you’ll find places of historical significance. From the German Farmhouses of the 18th and 19th Centuries and the covered bridges found throughout the rolling hills and fertile farmlands of the Lehigh Valley, to the Historic downtown Bethlehem area with its Moravian buildings, gas lamp lit brick walkways and gorgeous 18th and 19th Century Victorian Homes. You’ll be entranced by the river walk in downtown Easton or the Church in downtown Allentown where the Liberty Bell spent time hiding from the British during the American Revolution. George Washington and Marquis de Layette planned and acted against the British in taverns in Historic Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley is also home to many great companies or every size. Binney & Smith (the makers of Crayola Crayons), Air Products, Pennsylvania Power and Light, Mack Truck, and large facilities for AT&T, Lucent Technologies.
